There are a lot of great sales this week on items I frequently purchase. It's the growing season for a lot of local produce, so there is a lot of variety available right now.
Red peppers are on sale this week. It has been a very long time since I last saw red peppers on sale, so if we go pick up any groceries this week, we'll likely be picking up at least a few for a nice change from the green ones. Another great sale this week is cauliflower. Usually it is priced anywhere from $2.00 to $3.00, but it is on sale this week for $1.00 each. This is an amazing price, especially considering the Ontario grown cauliflowers in store are HUGE.

- Frozen grapes
- Roasted red pepper soup
- Stuffed peppers
- Smoothies with frozen fruit!
- Fruit jam, pies, tarts, cakes, etc.
- Watermelon salad with feta and basil
- Yogourt and fruit with granola
- Crackers and cheese
- Warm granola or oatmeal with cut up fruit
- Fruit salad
- Cucumber soup, salad or sandwiches
- Chocolate Banana Milkshake
- Banana recipes (allrecipes.com)
- Baked pears with granola and yogourt
- Pear crisp, pie, etc.
- Roasted mushrooms, mushroom caps, steak and mushrooms
- Cauliflower pizza crust
- Broccoli salad (it's amazing, try it!) - can add grapes and cauliflower (allrecipes.com)

So while you're out shopping this week, purchase an extra item to put in the Food Bank donation bins located at the exits of most grocery stores and help out someone in need!
