I should mention that I wrote the information for the avocados down in a way that may confuse people. The "sale" is for a bag/container of 5 avocados for $3.00, not 5 individual avocados for $3.00. It's not a very good sale anyway, I just added it because Mr. T. likes to make guacamole and at $3.00 for a bag of 5 (the most we'll pay for avocados) we'll buy some if he really wants to make some, but usually we wait until they are around $2.50 for a bag of 5.
Some of the produce on my list this week have great prices. Grapes are on sale for $0.97 (both red and green seedless). They haven't been on sale for a few months now with exception of a couple weeks ago, so if you love grapes, now is the time to stock up! You can freeze any extras you have because frozen grapes make a great snack! Cherries are on a great sale again, so I'm sure we'll be purchasing a few pounds of them again for Mr. T. Blueberries are a good price as well this week at $1.49 for 1 pint.
Recipe/Meal Ideas for this week's "sales":
- Frozen grapes as a snack
- Cherry recipes (allrecipes.com)
- Cherry pie, crisp, turnovers, etc.
- Creamy dill cucumber salad/soup
- 3-Step Soup!
- Roasted Tomato Sauce
- Blueberry sauce (I omit the sugar) (allrecipes.com)
- Berry muffins, breads, crisps, etc.
- Blueberries and cream
- Parfaits made with yogourt, blueberries and granola
- Freeze the fruit and make smoothies!
- Light and spicy salsa made with green peppers, tomatoes and cucumber

Also, I'd be remiss if I forgot to mention this week's 'Top 3' items needed most at the North Bay Food Bank (copied from their Facebook page):
- Variety of jarred baby food
- Snack/soda crackers
- Canned pasta (ravioli & alphagetti)
So while you're out shopping this week, purchase an extra item to put in the Food Bank donation bins located at the exits of most grocery stores and help out someone in need!
Happy Saving!
